  • Attended Texas A&M University and graduated from Sam Houston State with a BBA degree.
  • Married to wife, Ann, for 46 years. They have two sons, Mike and family of Houston and Kevin and family of Fulshear. They have three grandsons and one granddaughter.

  • Past Commander of the local National Guard Unit, Co. A, 6th Battalion, 112th Armor, 36th Infantry Division of the Texas National Guard.

  • President, Board of Trustees, Oak Bend Medical Center with over 20 years service on the board.
  • Associate Director, New First National Bank, Rosenberg.
  • Vice President, Fort Bend County Flood Control Water Supply Corp and an original member of the board founded in 1988.
  • Treasurer, Texas Healthcare Trustees, having represented Region IV since 2002.
  • Assistant Secretary, West Fort Bend Management District.
  • Member of Associate Board of Directors of New First National Bank, Rosenberg.
  • Life Director of Fort Bend County Fair Association with over 20 years’ service and serving as President in 1996.
  • Volunteer Auctioneer for various non-profit organization fundraising events throughout Fort Bend County.

  • Selected as “Fort Bend Business Leader of the Year” by the Rotary Club of Sugar Land, 1993.
  • Recipient of the Rosenberg-Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce “2004 Business Person of the Year” Award
  • Recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement Award”, presented by the Richmond Rotary Club in 2003.
  • Awarded recognition for “Excellence in Hospital Governance” by the Texas Academy of Governors for 2004-2006.

  • Served as a Director and Loan Committee Member for Rosenberg Bank & Trust, Rosenberg.

Past Services

  • Served with the 14th Artillery, 2nd Armored Division, United States Army, 1960-1962, Forward Observer, Battery Executive Officer and Battalion S-2 (Security Officer).
  • Served as Commander of the local National Guard Unit, Company A, 6th Battalion, 112 Armor, 36th Infantry Division of the Texas National Guard, 1965-1967. Served as Executive Officer 1962-1965 and Battalion S-1, 1967-1968.
  • Worked with Congressman Tom Delay in securing funding for Highway 36 armory and bringing a National Guard Unit back to Rosenberg.
  • Past President, Rosenberg-Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce – 1973, 1986, and 1987.
  • Past President, Fort Bend County Fair Board, 1996. Over twenty years of service on Fair Board.
  • Past President, Rosenberg-Richmond Jaycees.
  • Original Steering Committee Member, Rosenberg-Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce “Leadership Fort Bend” which started in 1986 during his term as President.
  • Past President, Lamar Little League Baseball. Served as manager for several years, accompanied 16-18 year old All Stars to National Regional Finals in Louisiana for two years.
  • Past President, Lamar Consolidated High School Athletic Booster Club, serving two terms.
  • Past Director, Fort Bend County A&M Club.
  • Past Board Member, T.W. Davis YMCA, participating in several fundraising drives.
